Caroline Conner

I’m from California but got into wine while at university at Oxford. Since we are nerds, we did competitive blind tasting and I was Top Taster in the 2009 Oxford Cambridge Varsity Blind Tasting Match, judged by Jancis Robinson and Hugh Johnson. I basically peaked at 20. I have my WSET 4 Diploma and have worked in sales, wine publishing, retail, and now run educational wine tastings in English for expats and tourists in Lyon, France. I love Lyon because I can be in Côte-Rôtie in 30 minutes, and we even have our own little unknown appellation which I plan to become the only English speaker to care about. My goal as a wine educator and wine writer is to make wine fun and interesting without being snobby about it. There’s nothing more annoying than wine snobbery! I miss London’s dynamic wine market, but love discovering France’s more esoteric grapes and regions.
