Catalin Nae
Catalin Nae currently works as a fraud analyst for a corporation in his adoptive city, Bucharest. Born and raised in a smaller town not so far away, in the Dealu Mare wine region of Romania, he’s always been familiar with living close to nature and enjoying this to the full.
His youthful inclination for foreing languages and his cultivated passion for literature led him to study these exact domains at the University of Bucharest. The ability to speak German helped him find a job which involves a lot of analysis, attention and good organizing – skills which he enjoys to activate in any situation.
He believes that he is now closer than ever to find the true meaning of his life, by preparing to work together with his loved ones in a family owned boutique winery. For this he enrolled for courses at the Faculty of Horticulture, where he especially focuses on Viticulture and Oenology.
Investing a lot of time and energy in this area, he has followed Sommelier classes – a title for which he is now certified, goes to winetastings, enjoys enotourism and is proud to have worked as an intern during the 2018 harvest at the Antinori family owned Vitis Metamorfosis winery, from where he left with a much appreciated bag of knowledge.
Just like any average boy, Catalin likes to play FIFA on his PlayStation in his spare time, and considers this to be his most obvious guilty pleasure. He also enjoys reading and is rather leaning towards technical stuff, biographies or essays rather than fiction. Together with his dog, Calu, he enjoys to stroll up and down the hill where his parents’ small vineyard is situated and admire the nature.
