Joseph Goodenough
My name is Joseph Goodenough. I am 26 years old and was born in Israel, where I have spent most of my life growing up as a third-culture child. The past two years have seen me develop a keen interest in wine, primarily as a consequence of working as a server in a high-end big-city restaurant. In December, 2019, I passed the WSET Level 2 Course in wine, and have been extensively researching and exploring the wines of Israel. Recently, during the Coronavirus lockdown, I began to develop content for my personal blog and social media. Using these platforms, I would like to share with wine lovers ‘out there’ information concerning Israeli wineries and tourism, tasting notes on locally-produced wines, the history of Israel as a wine region and stories about people in the local wine industry. My hope is to study winemaking extensively in Israel and to advance to the next WSET level. It is my ambition to showcase Israel, with its wines, as an exciting, new, high-quality wine producing country that does far more than just stock up kosher wine shelves. I would be truly honoured to tell the stories of the winemakers in this land.
