Lewis Drayton
I am a 21yr old university student and I am the 6th generation of the famous Drayton Winemaking family. Our family has been making wine in the Hunter Valley since 1853. Our goal is to showcase what the Hunter Valley is truly capable of producing in relation to Semillon and Shiraz. The recent introduction of other varietals such as Verdelho, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Chambourcin are expressive of how versatile this wine region is overall.
I am very passionate about wine making and drinking! Our family business is Ivanhoe Wines and we focus on producing Big & Gutsy Reds as well as clean, crisp and refreshing whites. Being a small family producer in such a large wine region, our goal is to provide our guests with the most memorable and personal experience possible.
I am currently studying a Double major business degree with the University of Newcastle. My majors are marketing and consumer behaviour and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. My goal if accepted into the Vintner Project would be to share with the world what the Hunter Valley is famous for as well as how magical it is as a wine region.
