Aguará Special Reserve Tannat 2016

Javier Alegresa

“Few have seen him; he is the largest and wisest fox of them all. Aguará Guazú inhabits our land, but is rarely seen. Our Aguará is a Tannat that embodies the spirit of this fox, standing out for its superb and mysterious singularity. We invite you to enjoy this limited-edition wine, unique and unrepeatable.”

– Javier Alegresa, Winemaker

This amazing and limited edition Tannat comes from a selected plot with a yield of 5,000 kg / ha. After manual harvest and a very delicate treatment of the fruit, the grapes are destemmed, crushed and sent to fermentation tanks at a controlled temperature of 25°. A post-fermentation mace- ration of 20 days is carried out, were also happens malolac- tic fermentation.

The wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 18 months. After bottling, the wine rests for 12 months in the bottle prior to the commercialization.

Two great friends, Dirk and Paul, and a shared whim: to create a winery that produces few bottles of the highest quality. This is how Bodega El Capricho was born.

With only 23 years, Dirk arrives to Argentina from his native Germany in search of new experiences. He meets Paul, who soon becomes a friend, a mentor and family. Today, over 30 years after that meeting, they fulfill a shared dream in a field of 200 hectares located in the Central region of Uruguay, in Villa del Carmen, Durazno. 7 exclusive hec-tares of vineyards constitute the beginning of this small family winery.
