Julie is a food and wine enthusiast who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. She revels in exploring wineries in neighboring Napa and Sonoma as well as the urban wineries of Berkeley and Oakland. Julie’s most recent wine travels took her to Jerez, Spain where she indulged her obsession with Sherry and then on to La Rioja to discover its Tempranillo wines. Being a Pinot Noir lover, she also enjoys visiting the Oregon wine regions.
Several years ago Julie started a blog (www.op-edible.com) to provide Bay Area restaurant recommendations to her friends and family, but it has evolved into a travel, food and wine photo journal. When she’s not eating or drinking — or thinking about eating or drinking, Julie works as an employment law attorney and human resources consultant.
Julie holds the following wine certifications:
- Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 3 Award in Wines – with Merit
- Certified Sherry Wine Specialist, awarded by The House of Lustau; approved by the Regulatory Council of Sherry Wines Jerez-Xérès-Sherry
