Pierre Helwi
Pierre Helwi is an assistant professor and vineyard consultant at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. In 2015, Pierre earned a Ph.D. in Viticulture and Enology from the University of Bordeaux, France. His work was focused on the effect of vine nitrogen status on varietal aromas in grape berries and wines. After several experiences in different wine regions such as Bordeaux and Sancerre in France and Marlborough in New Zealand, he joined the Department of Horticulture Sciences at Texas A&M University in 2016 as an Assistant Professor and Extension Viticulture Specialist.
Currently, he is directing his research towards solving grape quality issues associated with hot climate regions. Pierre has also achieved the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in 2019.
